Barking and Dagenham College (BDC) have announced a new Virtual Production Masterclass will launch this spring, to be run by Target3D and the Final Pixel Academy.
Recognising that the world of production is changing, and technology is moving at pace, BDC are offering this as a introduction to virtual production to creative industry professionals.
With Target3D and Final Pixel as the leaders in performance capture and virtual production, attendees will learn through a mixture of in-person lessons, flexible online study, with the opportunity to practice their skills in the world’s first research and innovation studio for virtual production; The Virtual Production Test Stage in Guildford.
This course will be delivered by trainers with experience of delivering across the virtual production workflow, including creating Unreal environments optimised for virtual production and teaching you the skills needed for an on-set virtual production crew.
Through the course, attendees will benefit from workflow learnings and on-set experiences that Final Pixel has gained as pioneers in ‘Mandalorian style’ virtual production and multiple end-to-end large scale shoots, including projects for Discovery, Disney/ABC and Shutterstock.
The course consists of 3 modules, as well as an introductory pre-module delivered at Barking & Dagenham College’s East London Institute of Technology. It will be delivered through blended learning, with 68% delivered online, and 32% delivered in person – allowing you to study flexibly around your current commitments.
Offered free to those aged 19+ and currently employed in a creative or technical role related to digital production, the course begins in February 2022. Further details are here.
